An animated evening with films, discussion, some drawing, and refreshments! We will
show drawn animated films from the AnimateTV collection. Gary Thomas, Co-director of
Animate Projects will be discussing the process and practices of making drawing move
with artists Mark Simon Hewis, John Parry and Sarah Cox. Everyone will be invited to
do some drawing too, and we.ll have a drink as well.

BIO~
Mark Simon Hewis studied animation at the Royal College of Art. His films have been shown around the world, and he teaches at the Bristol School of Animation at the University of the West of England.
John Parry studied at the Royal College of Art. He has worked in commercial animation as a director for Picasso Pictures since 1994. He was Professor of Animation at Savannah College of Art and Design in the USA for several years, and now teaches at UWE.
Sarah Cox studied animation at the Royal College of Art and works as a director of short films and commercials. Her film Heavy Pockets was nominated for a BAFTA. She set up Bristol based production company Arthur Cox in 2002.
Animate Projects commissions artists to make work that explores the relationship between contemporary art and animation, for broadcast, gallery, cinema and on-line exhibition.
