Mixture for seedballs: - 1 Part of dry seeds mixture, with a great variety of native plants (minimum of 8-10 sorts, from ground covers to trees, preferrably endangered, edible and otherwise ecologically beneficial plants) - 3 Parts of dry plant compost with fungi and soil microbes, (plus if possible 10% natural repellents). - 5 Parts dry red clay, finely powdered and sifted, not gray or white clay. Mix ingredients dry, turning and sifting to coat seeds with soil, then clay, then add 1 to 2 Parts Water added a little at a time until the clay mix is easily workable. once thoroughly mixed, role the mixture in your palms until a ball of about 1cm diameter is formed. Make sure the surface is very smooth, as otherwise the balls will crack prematurely. Leave to dry 24-48 hours and either begin spreading, or store them in a dry and dark place. Spreading of seedballs into groWorld pocket ecologies Find isolated or 'deactivated' areas in the city, such as garbage dumps, small spaces between buildings, cracks in the pavement, empty lots, roofs, etc. and simply spread the seedballs by throwing them on desired places. For full ground covering, you will need about 10 seedballs per square meter. Note the street names and other geographic marks and stick one of the [foam] stickers in the vicinity of the planted site. Please do inform us about the locations of the sites, so that we can map out the groWorld gardens around the world and in a few years organise a tour of the sites and other events. a big thanks from the groWorld team!
